Beginnings and Beyond

This five-day intensive retreat is tailored to meet the needs of those individuals who want to make healthy changes in their lives. Whether you are just beginning the journey of self-exploration or someone who has hit a 'road block' in your journey, this program is designed to motivate change and encourage self-growth. Beginnings and Beyond offers a series of non-threatening, safe, and proven experiential techniques as well as traditional group and cognitive behavior therapies. This retreat includes list work, a powerful tool for releasing 'stuck' feelings from the past.
Beginnings and Beyond 2

This five-day retreat is designed for those who have previously participated in InnerPath Retreats. We are offering you an opportunity to advance in your personal growth. Beginnings and Beyond II promotes spiritual and emotional enrichment by moving beyond past trauma, investigating the source of current problems and moving into healing solutions. Through new techniques, instruction and individual coaching, participants will learn to draw on their inner wisdom and create a life-style in which self-sabotaging behaviors diminish and joyful living can be more than a possibility.
Developing Healthy Relationships
Facilitator: Rokelle Lerner
This four-day retreat focuses on learning what constitutes a healthy relationship and how to attain it. The retreat is appropriate for individuals, couples, a parent and child (18 years or older,) siblings, friends, or any type of relationship that isn't working or could use improvement. Topics include communication styles, boundary conflicts, how childhood issues surface in relationships, recreating passion, and staying connected without being consumed by another.
Women's Retreat

This five-day retreat has been designed especially to meet the needs of women who are re-evaluating their relationships, their priorities, and their sense of self. This retreat examines the effects of trauma on women's lives and how it affects their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. The Women's Retreat moves beyond the mere awareness of problems and focuses on tools to support women in establishing healthy boundaries, examining relationship patterns and letting go of old images and memories that contaminate self esteem. In a beautiful desert retreat, women will learn to make peace with their own personal history and take the steps in order to move into a life of freedom and joy.

InnerPath - Los Angeles for Couples

This is a 2-day intensive small group experience to help you achieve love and healthy intimacy in your relationship. We use experiential and educational therapies that are designed to get to the root core of what is really going on. You can have the relationship you want through self-awareness and improved communication skills.
InnerPath - Outward Bound Adventure in Colorado

InnerPath is joining hands with Outward Bound Wilderness for a 4-day backpacking and rock-climbing adventure in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Come challenge your mind, body, and spirit with us! This InnerPath-Outward Bound experience is designed to address these issues: self-confidence, trust, codependency, fear, spirituality, and inner strength.

Rokelle Lerner is one of the most sought after speakers and trainers on relationships, women's issues and addicted family systems. She has inspired audiences throughout the world with her ability to address difficulties with insight, humor, and astounding clarity.
She has received numerous awards for her work with children and families including Esquire Magazine's "Top 100 Women in the U.S. Who Are Changing the Nation." Rokelle has been an advisor and consultant with foreign governments, US agencies, corporations, schools and hundreds of individuals on relationships, boundary issues and addiction. She is also co-founder and consultant to Children Are People, Inc., a program used in thousands of schools throughout the country. Rokelle has appeared as a guest consultant on numerous television shows such as Oprah, Good Morning America, CBS Morning News and 20/20. Her articles and interviews have been featured in the Washington Post, New York Times, Newsweek, Time, People Magazine and Parents Magazine.
Rokelle has published the best selling books, Living in the Comfort Zone: The Gift of Boundaries in Relationships, Affirmations for Adult Children of Alcoholics and Affirmations for the Inner Child.
Rami Katz is a Licensed Master Counselor, facilitating transformation through integrating body, mind and soul. She has been an international teacher of yoga and meditation, incorporating music, sound, movement and energy work, internationally, since 1974. Combining the great wisdom of East and West, Rami is committed to experiencing and sharing a possibility of balanced dynamic daily living. She has been leading groups at Cottonwood de Tucson since February 2000 with titles including: "Transforming Negative Self-Images," "Calming Upsets with Energy Medicine," "Honoring your Anger/Path to Forgiveness," "Uplifting Depression," "Yoga for Recovery," and "Living Meditations."
Our life experiences at times create defenses in the body, mind and emotions diverting us from the natural flow of our innate creativity (spirituality). Rami lovingly and humorously facilitates our unfolding journey in reconnecting with our Energy and our Source of power. With intention and attention, we can minimize old self-destructive patterns of thinking and behaving. Listening to and acting from our intuitive Wisdom, we gain clarity and peace of mind. Charles Gillispie has been a counselor at Cottonwood de Tucson for 9 years. He is a licensed independent substance abuse counselor with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts. Charles is a founding member of the San Pedro River Pilgrims, a back-packing club in Tucson dedicated to the promotion of conservation, political justice and the enjoyment of our national wildlife preserves. He has been an active participant in the Naropa Wilderness Therapy Symposium in Boulder, Colorado since 2005. Charles has published articles describing his work at Cottonwood in Addiction Professional, Journal of Poetry Therapy, and Therapeutic Recreation Journal.

Jana Zeff
is from the Chicago area. She followed her family out west and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in political science. Previous to working at Cottonwood, Jana was involved with K-6 educational environments and after-school programs. She was an assistant teacher and a director of recreational activities. Jana has been here at Cottonwood since 1991. She started out as a tech, then worked for several years as an admissions counselor on our inpatient unit, and has been managing the InnerPath program since August of 2003.
