The University of Arizona’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division has selected Cottonwood Tucson as its residential treatment training site. Every six months a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow from the University of Arizona comes to Cottonwood for their clinical training. The Fellows are Medical Doctors who have already completed their training in General Psychiatry. They rotate through Cottonwood to receive advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The Cottonwood Tucson staff psychiatrists serve as supervisors and academic mentors for the Fellows from the University of Arizona.
The University of Arizona selected Cottonwood Tucson as an official training site because of the quality of care provided to patients at Cottonwood and because of the quality of training experience for the Fellows. This clinical partnership also links Cottonwood directly to the scientific resources and research of the University of Arizona, a nationally distinguished academic medical center.
